Well, we're half way through another week (little over half-way actually!!) and it's gone by pretty fast! This weekend was pretty good, although I don't really remember it! I know we didn't go to the Dog Park on Saturday because it was pouring! Actually Jamie went to his cousin's birthday party, and I went with my Mom to visit my Nana for her birthday, and to say good luck for her surgery. She underwent open heart surgery this morning to have an aortic valve replaced. My Mom and I visited this afternoon and the nurse said everything went great. She should be able to stand tomorrow, and out of the hospital in 5 days. It's crazy how advanced everything medical is. On a side note, as much as I would LOVE to be a nurse, hospitals make me QUEASY! It's funny coming from a diabetic who pokes herself several times a day, but I cannot see OTHER people's blood/ injuries. I was feeling pretty faint seeing all the IV's etc. I texted Jamie afterwards to tell him that I was glad that when we were going to have a baby, I would be the one to actually have it, not have to see it. I can deal with my own pain a lot better than seeing it happen to someone else! I would be that passed out husband on the floor of the delivery room if I was a man. Luckily Jamie has a strong stomach, (except for roller coasters) so I know he'll be just fine when that day comes!
What else is new, what else is new... OH, back to the weekend! I brought home Roxie on Saturday night, and had a bath before Jamie got home... It was some seaweedy Lush one, which turned the water a really pretty teal colour, howeverrrrr I wasn't crazy about all the seaweed floaties! Not my thing! It didn't soften my skin as much as the other ones too, boo :( Oh well, maybe I'll go back to one of my tried and true ones this weekend.
Kitchen reno is moving along nicely, we've chosen a colour called "Bella Noche"
I'm really excited for that, and especially for the integrated sink we will be getting! It will all be one piece, which will be AMAZING!!!! I'm attaching a photo of one I found off of a great blog online!
And lastly, we're using a bevel edge, which means our countertop will look like so:
The bevel edge also eliminates the need for seams in the corner which will look great! However, that doesss leave us with a seam by the sink, but the countertop guy has assured me it won't be noticeable, and not a problem with water!
And HOW DID I FORGET!! My A1C is at 6.0!!!!! One month ago it was 6.6, and the Dr encouraged me to get it to below 6.5, and now I'm at 6.0!! I have never been prouder. I wish I could avoid some of the lows I'm having, but it's all coming together finally!
Anywho, back to toddlers and tiaras. Goodnight!

Wednesday night updateee
Well, it's a Wednesday evening and I'm just watching some real estate intervention before bed, super exciting. I can't believe I forgot my Saturday update! I had my weekend bath on Friday night, which was wonderful, however somehow I stayed in the bathtub for 3 hours!!! No idea how I managed that... It was a nice bath though! Saturday morning we took Roxie and Holly to Tynehead for Molly's (the dog) birthday party, which was fun. It ended a little early due to an injury so we went to the Clayton dog park because it's fully fenced and I feel a little safer that way overall. The dogs were totally pooped afterwards, which was great. After that we had a few drinks and wandered over (on foot) to Memphis Blues... Some shrimp, cat fish and palm bays later we walked to the booze store and to Price mart before heading home. I love being so close to everything, we basically just have to walk through a park to get to everything! After we came home, we watched the Social Network which was okay, but I think it's a little overrated. Sunday was a decent day however now I completely forget what we got up to.. I know we headed off to the dog park as usual, and that we had our Sunday night roast and mashed potatoes, but I can't remember anything else we did! Oh well..
This week has been super busy for me at work, but we're already past the hump day, so the weekend is just on the horizon!! I'm working 1-9 tomorrow and we have the countertop measure getting done tomorrow morning. We're using a different company now, because they are able to do the integrated sink... I'm a little bit upset that we're not able to take advantage of Home Depot's 15% off sale, but I think that new sink will make such a huge difference... We still haven't picked out our new countertop yet, it is such a huge decision... And then there are backsplashes to think about, although I'm hoping we can settle on just white subway tiles, I like the clean simple sleek look of them! I love the 'stone' backsplashes but I just don't like that it's not easily cleanable!!
Anywho, aside from kitchen and work and dog, not much else is happening in life right now! My blood was amazing for well over a week (where my highest reading was 10.8) and sure enough the day after I mention to Jamie how great it's been it goes completely mental. It's been SO high lately, and I just don't get it... It's really frustrating when you do everything RIGHT, but yet it still doesn't work out. I'm so nervous for how it's all going to be when I'm pregnant, it's going to be just so hard with all the changing hormones... Oh well, as long as I'm testing every couple hours I'll be able to catch things before they get out of control... I can't get over how time consuming my diabetes has become! It used to be so 'easy'.. I would just test when I feel like it, and guesstimate on all my carbs and hope for the best... Now I'm testing 8-12 times a day, and writing down not only every insulin dose I give myself, but also everything I eat... This way the next time I eat it I can look back and see how the amount I took last time worked out. I'm really getting used to spending a good 5 minutes before every meal 'preparing'. Oh well, it could be much worse! It'll all be worth it in the end, and hopefully when I check my A1C in a few weeks, it'll be down a little bit more!
Okay, bedtime I think!
