Well!
Last time I updated I was expecting (or not expecting) my period soon and had encountered a little bit of an insulin mishap which was not fun at all.. Caused a lot of havoc for a couple days but it's all settled down (and great) now. More on that later though.. :)
So, I was convinced I was pregnant 1 day, and then feeling completely unpregnant the second day through my '2ww' (ugh, I hate calling it that, but it's quick!!)... I caved and tested on Thursday night, came up negative. Friday my period still wasn't here (although it wasn't due until Saturday) and Jamie and I found a $5 test at Pricesmart so we tested again, and another negative. Saturday afternoon I got my 2 cramps which tell me my period is coming and there was something there when I wiped so I assumed it was my period and went on with my evening (and had some drinkies!).... Checking later, I wasn't bleeding AT ALL... I was pretty concerned and then went to bed. Woke up at 7:30 on Sunday, STILL not bleeding, ugh! I was pretty nervous, but it came shortly after, so all is good. Hopefully we get it this month, this TTC stuff sucks! We'll have an early April due date if all goes as planned, exciting :)
Had another diabetes appt at the clinic on Tuesday, and I (think) that I have made the decision to go onto an insulin pump. I am really stuck between the new Minimed pump and the Animas Ping... So many positives and negatives to both. I love the 'ping' system, but HATE one-touch test strips, I will miss my freestyle meter so much! Although I guess I could still use my freestyle meter too, I dunno... I'm just so nervous about going onto a pump. I know it will be better when I am pregant, as hormone changes will not be easy to deal with on Lantus, but it's still such a hard choice... I am not by any means ashamed to be a diabetic, I will talk about it non-stop and I love explaining everything, but I just don't know if I really want to be a walking diabetes billboard. Where will I wear the pump if I'm wearing a dress? I know a lot of people stick it in their bras, but what if you don't have a big chest? That just won't work... Where would I have kept it on my wedding day? I am just so nervous about the small details like that. Jamie and I like to wrestle and play fight, what if he rips out my infusion set? I was on a pump for probably 4 years back in the day, and I am so commited to my shots, but will this be best for my baby? The nurses and dieticians and drs seem to think so, and I really can't think about just me. I gotta take care of myself in the BEST way possible... Even though I have really good control right now, every little bit makes a huge difference, and I think it might be worth a shot.
Anyways, I'm exhausted and am heading to bed, I'll try to update soon!

Time keeps ticking... :)
Well Well Well... back from Vegas already!
Vegas was wonderful... we had such a good time! We left around 6:30 AM and dropped Holly off at my parents house and drove across the border (made it right on through!)... We were the 3rd people to check in for our flight and hunkered down for a couple hours before we could board.... Oh and we had already stopped at Subway on the way down, we travel early, very early!! I'm a little paranoid about missing a flight! Anywho, we got on our flight (2nd row with open seating, so good!) and ordered some drinks and snackies and just got excited for our vacation! Flight went perfect and we were checked in at the hotel less than an hour later!
The rest is a nice happy blur of fun times, we gambled lots, drank lots, won lots, lost lots, wandered around, window shopped, laid out in the sun, went for dinners, and just had a great time. 4 nights was the perfect amount of time for Vegas, just perfect! Flight home was okay, minus being stuck on the runway for over an hour in an overheated plane because the engine was too hot!
Now we've been home a couple days and we're back into the swing of things. I guess I'm in my '2ww' (god, i hate TTC talk) so I have cut out drinking! It's been kinda boring honestly. I can't wait to have a baby and be pregnant, but I do like my weekend brewskies, I will miss that. We'll see if my period comes this weekend though, who knows! I think I have symptoms every 10 minutes and then I realize that if I was pregnant I wouldn't be having any symptoms yet. I feel pregnant one minute and not the next... I guess we'll see! It's pretty exciting though, it's scary to think how much our lives are going to change (hopefully soon). I'll be kinda choked if it takes a really long time. But who knows! There is reallllyyyy no way to know, as much as I like to speculate. And I don't want to start charting or anything either.
We did Playland today, for a work function. Morning started off with a pretty bad headache and then after checking my blood (2.8) I accidently gave myself 32U of SHORT ACTING instead of long acting insulin. Ugh I couldn't believe I did that. So I downed 2 juice boxes and decided that it was probably a good idea for Jamie and I to take one car to Playland instead of 2. (I was going to stick around for the draws and he would go to hockey)... We got there, wandered for a bit and had some lunch. My blood plummetted a little bit during lunch and I was actually kind of scared of passing out for a short while. I told Jamie to find someone with a glucagon if I passed out. After lunch, we got a thing of cotton candy and I downed that pretty quick and felt fairly stable. We barely went on any rides because 1. they suck there and 2. if i'm pregnant that's prolly not the best idea in the world.
We left around 3:30 and went to Jamie's hockey game... they won, but barely! Coming home we stopped at quiznos for dinner and I was STILL LOW! Tested a couple hours later and I went up to 18, Uhhhhgggghhghhh.. So annoying. Way too much work.
Anywho, I'm watcching that new gypsy show on TLC (very odd) so I am going to take off... I plan to update sometime this weekend when I either am having a drink, or testing frantically. Exciting stuff!

Vegas on the brain!
Only a few more days until Vegas! I work tomorrow morning, have a managers meeting at 12:30, heading back to work until 5:30 or so (depending on the Canucks game) and then heading home to HOPEFULLY celebrate with my honey! Wow, I'm watching 16 and pregnant and it is just awful... babies shouldn't be having babies!!!! Those poor children born to children!! I mean I know Jamie and I are 'young' by normal standards, but we're grown ups, with a home and jobs and a stable environment. The irresponsibility of these teenagers on this show makes me so sad :(
Bah, enough of that. So on Thursday I think I'll pack a bit, and Jamie has a hockey game and then on Friday I took it off, so we're selling a cabinet (the old microwave one) in the AM and then we have dentists appts at 2 & 3 and then we're doing a 5K run out at UBC. After that we're heading home and off to bed because VEGAS ON SATURDAY!!!!!
So excited!!
Oh, and we picked out a backsplash, just need to actually install it! Hopefully it will be up soon, and hopefully we figure something out with our backyard, it is a construction zone right now and I just want it to look pretty!
Enough for now! :)

Keeping on top of things!

May is gone
And once again, I forget to update for an entire month.. I'm working on it! Not that anyone's reading this, yet at least! Life has been hectic, and there are some big changes on the horizon!!!
Kitchen STILL isn't done, but we should have the new cabinet in this week, and then the backsplash done shortly after, and then it's DONE! Onto the deck... I think we've finally nailed down a general plan, we just need to get it down on paper, and then spend way too much money on materials and them we'll be right there! I'm hoping we can get it done in the next month so that we can actually enjoy it this summer, but I'm thinking that's a very lofty goal! One can hope though, right?
Jamie and I cancelled camping, and we went to Whistler with Holly instead, it was great! She cried a little bit when we went for (an overpriced) dinner, but other than that, she was really well behaved. Our little pup <3
Diabetes wise, I just had an appt yesterday. It went really well, my A1C is a litttttllee bit higher than I would like, but overall it's not bad, and I know I let it slack for a little while, because the next year is going to be so intense. I'm prepared though, it's what I gotta do!

Another month goes by!
Well well well.... So much time goes by! I keep saying I'm going to update this all the time, and then just never get around to it! So, what's happened in the last month? Not a whole lot actually! Vanessa's wedding was Friday and it was gorgeous! Perfect weather and a beautiful ceremony and reception!
I can't believe that our original plan was to start TTC... now! We have about a month and a half to go, and I am so excited. I'm terrified that I'm broken though and that I'll never get pregnant or be able to carry a baby, but I think I'm just a worrier! I have no way of knowing until we reach that point so fingers crossed that everything is fine and dandy at this point!
I got some bloodwork done last week and it still isn't posted! Hopefully it will be up tomorrow, I'm really hoping it's still as good as it was a few months ago!
Holly is doing wonderful, she is getting VERY furry and I'm going to have to spend some time stripping her out soon.
Housewise, everythings great. I can't believe we've been here a whole year (today!)... It went by so so fast! I'm excited to finish our kitchen, just waiting to hear from our neighbour regarding the kitchen cabinet, and if we don't hear from him soon, we'll need to go somewhere else I think! I want it done! Once that's done, all we really need is a backsplash and we're good!
Ugh, I dropped a chair on my toe at the wedding and it is massive and swollen and hurts like hell! I'm hoping it goes down soon, and I hope I don't lose my toenail!
I'll try to update sooner next time, maybe make it a official after Saturday bathtime thing again, that sounds like a good idea! If not, it looks like next time I'll be posting we'll just be back from camping, and I'll be 23 years old! Fun!

so, it's been a while...
Wow, time flies..
Let's start with the bad. After my Nana's surgery, she started having troubles breathing on Saturday. Things went downhill further from there, and she passed away on Monday night. I still can't believe she's gone, it was just way too soon. Before she went in for surgery we were talking about how 'easy' of a procedure it is, and then just bam, she's gone. I did the eulogy at her funeral, and although it was difficult, I think it showed what she meant to her family. I think it will really start to sink in come the holiday season. Crazy to think last time we had a good talk, she was talking about being excited about becoming a great grandmother... and now that will never happen. Crazy. Life is so short.
Ahh, as far as the kitchen goes - Not going so great. I went in and paid the deposit on February 16th, and they said it would be done in 2 weeks. Well, 4 weeks later they're finally ready, awesome. The install was scheduled for 8AM Friday morning and I was going to go into work about 30 minutes late so I could see the countertops, at least just a peek! By 9:30, they still weren't here so I assumed they were just running behind and I went to work. Jamie texted me at 10:30 asking if they were still coming so I gave them a call. I talked to the guy I've been dealing with and he said he was just about to call me. I guess as they were laying the laminate they discovered that the other sheet didn't match the dye lot of the sheet already laid. So they have to then go out and get another sheet, and THEN lay that, and THEN do the bevel edge and let that cure for a few hours. I have no idea why we weren't informed of this beforehand, because obviously if they hadn't even laid the laminate yet there would be no way they'd be there at 8AM on Friday. He says that it will likely be ready that afternoon so we go on that. He calls me around 2PM and says that they're done and look awesome, but that it's not a bad idea to wait overnight just to make sure that they've sat long enough and cured properly. Sucks to go another night without a kitchen (we'd already ripped out the old countertops and sold the old sink on Thursday), but at least I could be there to see the install so that sounded good.
We went to bed super early on Friday because he said they would be there right at 8AM... We're up at 7:30 on Saturday and still no one is here by 9:15. I get an email from the guy saying theres been a slight delay and they should be here ASAP. They show up around 10 and bring in the massive slab of countertop (L shaped). They also tell us that they forgot the piece next to the stove and it would have to wait until Monday - Weird but whatever. They get the piece into place, plop it down and.... it doesn't fit. The overhang is essentially on the inside of the cabinets. It looks like the guy who did the measure (the owner) wrote down the correct width for the bar top, and measured the total length of the countertop, but forgot to actually ADD the additional 12" to the sheet. BAHHHHHHH. So they cut the beautiful (incorrectly sized) countertop in half and haul it back out. It's looking like it will be midweek now... Hopefully. I'm excited to talk to the owner and see what they were thinking, come on now!
Anyways, I'm tired and tomorrow is Monday so it's bedtime for me (after a little bit more real housewives of OC) so I think I will end this here. Overall it's pretty negative, but things will be looking up soon. We booked a trip to Vegas June 18th-22nd and we will offically be starting to TTC on that trip! If everything works out perfectly we'll have a baby due mid March next year, right around this time actually - Crazy!!!
Lots more going on but I will update soon!
